Thanksgiving 2022

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours 2022.
For the Thanksgiving holiday we will have short hours this week. We will be open normal hours Monday and Tuesday, and then we will have short hours and be closed The holiday through the weekend. We will still be accepting EMERGENCY CALLS. So, if you do have an emergency, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we are able. Any messages left for non-emergencies, will have calls returned on Monday 11/28.

True emergencies consist of the following:
Main Sewer Line Back-up, resulting in you not being able to use your facilities.
A clogged toilet, but only if it is the only one in your home.
A bad water leak inside your home, which has resulted in your water being shut off.
No Hot Water, is NOT considered an emergency.
All other plumbing issues, may be an inconvenience, but are not an emergency.

A Few Helpful Plumbing Tips

  • NEVER flush anything down the toilet besides human waste and toilet paper. Even if wipes say “flushable” they should not be flushed because they will clog your line.
  • Regularly check toilet for leaks and make sure it is not running. Keeping your toilet clean can help spot leaks or problems with plumbing fairly quickly.
  • Do not use chemical drain cleaner to unclog drains as it can damage the pipes.
  • Keep your water heater well maintained and flushed regularly.
  • Do not put food or food scraps down your garbage disposal as it can cause your disposal to jam or break. Throw the food/scraps away instead.

Recent Project

Our technicians worked hard on this project recently for a church daycare that was having drainage problems. They dug out trenches and installed trench drains with stainless steel grates along the sidewalk. It was a big job, but our guys are always up to the challenge!

I had a busted water line with multiple junctions under my home and had to shut off the main water to the house. I called Cain’s the next morning and they were there that afternoon. Helpful Tips

Here are a few friendly reminders about how to prevent clogs in your drains:

  • You should never flush anything besides human waste and toilet paper. This means you should not flush any feminine products or even wipes. Don’t even flush “flushable” wipes. Yes they will flush but they will clog your line.
  • Make sure not to put food or even food scraps down your garbage disposal. Throw them away instead. They can cause your disposal to jam or break.
  • It’s also a good idea to brush your hair before you shower or bathe so all that hair does not go down the drain and cause a blockage.

A Day in the Life

These are pictures of our plumbers replacing a water service recently. The water service that was currently in place was shared between two homes. We replaced it so they each have their own service. All of this you see in the photos was dug by hand. A typical day in the life of our hard working plumbers!
